We begin at Ben Storms. Storms works with materials we all recognize - marble, steel - but assigns them unexpected roles. His objects play with our expectations: heavy becomes light, hard appears soft. Without grand statements, his work focuses on how things are made and how they influence our perception. In his studio, we see how craftsmanship and technology come together, resulting in work that feels both familiar and subtly disorienting. We then visit Marijke De Cock, who, alongside her work for Dries Van Noten, maintains her own artistic practice. She starts from free, intuitive drawings, which are then translated into layered wall pieces using glass beads. What often begins as a detail grows into something autonomous and strikingly present. Two distinct practices, each with its own approach, yet both deeply connected to material and craftsmanship.
